King Kong

The Egyptians built the pyramid, the Chinese built the Great Wall, but the natives of Skull Island built a fence designed to keep large prehistoric beasts out of their living space.
This stone age tribe managed to cut down fifty foot long and two foot diameter trees, clear off all the branches, stand them up and lash them together to build their fence. The fence not only had to stand on its own, but also withstand the force of an angry Tyrannosaurus Rex. They accomplished this amazing feat with only stone axes and brute force. On the reality show, "The Ax Men", the workers complain about how hard they are working while using chain-saws, tracked machines with all kinds of attachments and a sky cable to haul the logs to the top of the mountain. Can you imagine building a fifty foot high fence with nothing but stone axes and the strength of your back. How many natives died or were injured in the construction process? How many natives died or were injured by the wild beasts prior to completion of the fence?
The engineering involved in building the fence pales in comparison to the engineering involved in making the fifty foot high gate. Not only did the gate have extra strong hinges to support its tremendous weight, but it also had to have a very strong and heavy log to use as a dead bolt. This dead bolt had to be handled by at least twenty five natives. Another fifty natives were required to swing the gate open. This gate was designed for the purpose of allowing the natives to go out and tie their victim to the sacrificial altar. My question is WHY? If this gate and fence were constructed for the purpose of keeping King Kong out, then why couldn't they just have cut a little six foot high opening in the fence? Never mind the fact that King Kong could climb to the top of the Empire State Building but couldn't scale the fifty foot high fence.

  1. Oh, this is way too deep for my brain to comprehend!
Obviously the natives didn't realize that King Kong could scale that fence because he never had a reason to, sacrifices were freely offered to him, and he had never before fell in love with one of his meals. But it was LOVE that made him climb the Empire State Building.
As to why they didn't cut a little door into the fence, I have no idea, maybe it was built by men who wouldn't listen to the wisdom of women because they felt that women should remain silent!!

  3. Let’s look at the history books. On page 176 of his book “Skull Island Through the Ages”, Merin C. Cooper writes, “The gates were built by an earlier culture of islanders that were friends with the "Kong" race. The ‘Kongs’ helped the original islanders to build their village and the wall (thus meaning the gate had to be big enough for the giant gorillas to walk through). By the time of the events of the movie, the original islanders have "died out" and their old village had been taken over by a race of more primitive natives who became enemies with the Kongs, and were trying to use the gates for safety.”

Sometimes you just have to look things up. I point to the Bible: 1 Timothy 2:11-15. It is what it is. Enough said about that.

  4. Pardon me, I'll go edit to say, "Eric started slurring his words". Maybe I should have you proofread all my posts, Mr. Know-It-All.
Now I'm going to critique yours!

  5. Oh, I can't wait for next week, because you boys are going to get a lesson into the progressive thinking of St. Paul. You do not know the man! You only know to twist his words into your own warped thinking. Amen!

  6. Okay, Mr. Perfection:
On the reality show. (Period? That is not a sentence). "The Ax Men". the workers....
    (Again, poor sentence structure.)
Okay, now let us all hear how it's your crippled hand that's to blame! Come on, I'm waiting.

Okay, I'll call a truce if you will. If we don't have anything nice to say to each other about our blogs (or in real life too) we just won't say anything at all. Agreed?
If not - bring it on, Buddy!

  8. I'm with Umma. What are brances? As in, "This stone age tribe managed to cut down fifty foot long and two foot diameter trees, clear off all the BRANCES, stand them up and lash them together to build their fence."

I'm beginning to think you have WAY too much time on your hands! Maybe you should take up golfing or fishing or something (other than blogging) so that you don't spend so much time worrying about the inhabitants of a fictional island...

  9. I also feel that anyone who quotes Hamlet is either a homosexual or a big cry baby. Which are you?

  10. I don't believe St.Paul's words were "twisted", but quoted. If you would like to hear more, read Ephesians 5:22-24, Collosians 3:18, Titus 2:5&9, Titus3:1, 1 Peter 3:1&5 and 1 Corinthians 14:34
